EMK
HIP HOP/TRAP/R&B/DANCE
Originally hailing from North London, producer/artist EMK was aware that music would be a focal point of his life from a very young age. Raised in a musical family by Nigerian and Spanish parents, EMK was exposed to an immense range of soundscapes and creative inspirations which have helped to sculpt the unique sound that he delivers today. EMK was initially influenced by some of the pioneers of the 2000’s US Hip Hop scene which included producers such as Pharrell, Scott Storch and Timbaland. He would later re-discover the sultry and soulful progressions of 90’s R&B and more recently would be exposed to classic and modern UK Garage as well as UK Drill, all of which have added to the many layers of EMK’s style.
EMK has worked closely with a wide selection of artists and producers from both the UK and US, most notably he forms one-third of a production label headed by well-known UK producer Sevaqk. EMK has secured production placements on a wide-range of projects from UK artists from the urban scene, and as a result has a long history of radio coverage (BBC, 1xtra, Capital Xtra).
Since 2017, with the release of his first single ‘Demons’ which has amassed over 200,000 plays on Spotify alone and secured a Spotify editorial playlist spot, EMK has stepped out from behind the scenes to take a hands-on role of an artist. EMK’s sound is instantly recognizable for its often moody and ominous sound design coupled with introspective and catchy vocals. His artist release catalogue includes a selection of different styles, from Reggaeton to Moody Trap and Pop Rap which showcase his ability to both produce and perform music from across all genres.
